Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to examine the influence of employee training, employee welfare, and work environment on employee productivity, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable.

Design/methodology/approach – A quantitative approach was employed, using survey questionnaires for data collection. The sample consisted of employees from PT. PSM, and primary data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with SMARTPLS 4.1.0.9.

Findings – The results indicate that employee training, employee welfare, and work environment positively and significantly affect employee productivity. Additionally, these three variables have a positive impact on job satisfaction, which in turn enhances employee productivity. Furthermore, job satisfaction mediates the relationship between employee training, employee welfare, and work environment with employee productivity.

Originality/value – This study contributes to the literature by empirically validating the mediating role of job satisfaction in enhancing employee productivity within a financial cooperative context. The findings provide practical insights for organizations seeking to improve productivity through training, welfare programs, and workplace environment optimization.
