Optimalisasi Inventory Management System dalam Meningkatkan Efisiensi Operasional pada UMKM Duta Swalayan

Abstract

This community service initiative aims to optimize the use of an Inventory Management System (IMS) to enhance the operational efficiency of Duta Swalayan at the Ngalah Purwosari Islamic Boarding School. The challenges addressed included a high volume of manual transaction recording, discrepancies between physical stock and system data, and the absence of standardized data backup procedures. The implementation methodology involved observation, problem identification, awareness-raising, training, IMS implementation support, the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and evaluation through observation, interviews, and a comparison of conditions before and after the intervention. The results demonstrated an increase in employees' understanding of IMS usage (from a score of 2.1 to 4.3 on a 5-point scale), a reduction in manual transactions from 80% to 15%, and a decrease in stock discrepancies—identified during stocktaking from 12% to 2%. Furthermore, routine data backup procedures were successfully implemented, and inventory reports began to serve as a basis for purchasing decisions. These outcomes indicate that optimizing the IMS improves inventory management accuracy, operational efficiency, and the staff's capacity to utilize information systems sustainably.
